Question:
FCAT score required for a scholarship in Florida.?

Ok.
So I received both of my FCATs scores today. I was please with my Math score, it was a high four.
My English however wasn't as good as I planned. You see, each year I earn a 3. This year, I PASSED it, but with a 2. The score needed for a 3 is a 2068, I received a 2067, One point away from a three.
I'm pretty sure that I needed a 3 for at least a 75% scholarship, but I wanted to make sure.
Here I am crying, after all those A.P classes I've taken. I feel like it was all a big waste of time. I need a scholarship, my parents can't pay for college.
This is also the highest I've gotten, but somehow the rest managed to be 3, and this one is only a lousy two.
Also, can I retake the FCAT if I passed it? Would they give me instensive reading?
Does everyone with the scholarship requirements get a scholarship?
And last, can I make up for my FCAT score with a high SAT's score?

Wow, who was the idiot that said you couldn't get Bright Future if you are not a florida resident, but yet the asker took FCAT? Obviously you, the asker, are a florida resident.

Anyways,

I assume you are talking about the Bright Futures scholarship (75% version), something that i know lots about. The only FCAT requirement involved with bright futures is that you passed it. You just said you passed it, so you WILL NOT be penalized in obtaining the Bright Futures scholarship. FCAT is not addressed in Bright Futures requirements because it is only used for you to be promoted from grade to grade.

Bottom line: Did you pass the FCAT? If the answer is, "YES" then stop crying; you will get the scholarship if you meet the rest of the requirements.

Now here are the answers to your other questions:

No, you may not retake the FCAT if you passed. You will only recieve intensive reading if you have failed the reading section of the FCAT and are in danger of failing (meaning you did not passed the FCAT during summer school). You will not take intensive reading because you already passed FCAT.

If you meet all of the Bright Futures scholarships requirements you are GUARANTEED the scholarship. However, after the scholarship has been granted you must meet the college-level requirements for keeping it.

If you fail the FCAT three times you can "make up" for it with a 940 SAT score. If you are talking about the "FCAT Requirement" for Bright Futures, then there is NONE; I have already addressed this. However, there is an SAT requirement for Bright Futures, which is a 970 or better, alternatively a 20 or better on the ACT test.

If you have more questions I highly suggest visiting your school's guidance counseler because I have a feeling that you are very confused about the requirements for the Florida public scholarship program, Bright Futures.

I also suggest that you google "Florida Bright Futures" and closely study the requirements for it, there are other variables involved in getting it, including High School GPA and Service Hours (for the 100% version).
