Hello I work for a Domestic Violence shelter. we are totally a nonprofit organization. What would be some good ways to earn money for our shelter. With the economy the way it is we are on a tight budget, any suggestions would be very much so appreciated thanks.

The Domestic Violence Shelter in my area asked a group of theater students at the local college to do the Vagina Monologues as a fund raiser. The college let them use the theater stage to preform them and all the posters said 100% donated to Domestic Violence.

One great way to raise money is to hook up with perhaps a celebrity who can help push your cause. Patti Austin, Grammy award winner was recently on Entertainment Tonight speaking out against domestic violence. She's started a movement at www.PattiAustin.com/BLUE and is the spokesperson for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Well worth your while to join her and have her perhaps help you in your fund raising efforts.

local christian bands will likely jump at the chance to help out and (at the same time) get out in front of the people! advertise in school papers, ask local churches, go to Youtube, etc.
