the college finanical aid will inform you if you qualify, although you could be eligible you might not get it. It depends on how many people are eligible and those with lesser income than yourself and how many positions they have to fill for students for work-study,etc. you can call the finanical aid office at your school and speak with a finanical aid counselor, who will tell you more.
In addition, work study requires that you find a job on campus and apply (like all of the other students). You are given a maximum amount of work study money for the year and only get paid for the hours that you work, and you will receive a paycheck like a regular job. The money is for you to use and will only go towards your tuition if you pay the bill.
